Volunteers Needed. BRYC Basketball depends on
volunteers. We can always use
a hand and there are lots of ways for parents, relatives and friends
to help. Please look at the
descriptions of key positions that must be filled and consider
volunteering. If you can help,
then please register
online.
Coach. Coaches teach our kids about
basketball, teamwork and sportsmanship. Coaching is rewarding, but takes
time, effort and dedication during the season. If you understand basketball and
like working with young players, then coaching is for you. We can always use more good coaches.
Assistant Coach.
If you have never coached, but you like the game and kids,
then consider volunteering to assist your child's coach. If your work schedule doesn't allow
you to commit to coaching, then you may be able to assist when you
are available.
League Director. Each league requires a person to
direct the action. During the
winter, the League Director appoints coaches, allocates uniforms to
teams, and prepares the game schedules for the season. The League Director works with the
coaches to make the basketball experience a good one for all players.
Administration.
There seem to be a million little things that must be done
during the season. Mailings must
be done, people are needed to help with registration, phone calls
must be made, uniforms must be handed out to league directors, and
lots of other things that just have to be done. If you can spare some time to help
with these administrative tasks, please let us know.
Referees.
This position is paid.
If you understand basketball and would like to referee, let us
know.
